See ya soon, London!

While writing this blog post, I am currently sat at Heathrow airport waiting for my Gate to be announced. On one hand, I am the happiest person on planet earth to be seeing my family again and to know that I’ll be able to spend loads of time with them and all of my friends in Germany. But on the other hand it’s quite sad to leave so many new found friends behind. 

Beim Schreiben dieses Posts sitze ich gerade am Heathrow Flughafen und warte, dass mir mein Gate angezeigt wird. Mir gehen gerade super viele Gedanken und Gefühle durch den Kopf. Ich bin unglaublich aufgeregt, wieder mehr Zeit mit meiner Familie und Freunden in Deutschland verbringen zu können, aber auf der anderen Seite ist es sehr traurig so viele neu gewonnene Freunde hier in London zurück zu lassen. 

I had a blast during my - almost - last two weeks in London. The boys were off school and we were able to spend some quality time together without having all of the usual school stress. I also met up with loads of my friends almost every evening. The weekend was especially busy. On Saturday I first went to Camden and Primrose Hill with Julia, then went on to watch a ballet performance in the Royal Opera House. By the time I got to Fulham to meet up with three other friends to have a night out, it was almost 11PM. By the time I got home it was probably around 3AM. 

The next day, I met up with Julia again. This time to go to Oxford street for some shopping. Loads of fun but I didn't really find much that l actually wanted to spend my money on. That night we went to the same pub in Fulham but had a bit of a more quiet evening with a few drinks but not much dancing. 

Meine fast zwei letzten Wochen in London habe ich in vollen Zügen genutzt. Die Jungs hatten noch eine Ferienwoche, die wir mit viel Fußball, Freunden und Monopoly gefüllt haben und meine Freizeit habe ich eigentlich immer mit Freunden verbracht. 

Das Wochenende war sehr vollgeplant, aber es hat sich gelohnt: Samstag traf ich mich erst mit Julia in Camden und Spötter fuhren wir dann weiter nach Primrose Hill. Am Abend ging es mit Christine und Cassandra, das neue AuPair meiner Familie, in das Royal Opera House, wo wir uns eine Vorstellung von Alice im Wunderland als Ballett angeschaut haben. Gegen elf habe ich mich dann noch mit Christine und zwei weitern Freunden in einem Pub in Fulham getroffen. Durch Live Musik war die Stimmung einfach super und es wurde viel getanzt, getrunken und einfach nur generell Spaß gehabt. 

Sonntag habe ich mich dann wieder mit Julia auf der Oxford Street getroffen. Eigentlich hätte ich sogar mal Geld zum Ausgeben gehabt, doch wie das dann halt so ist, habe ich nichts wirklich gefunden, das mich angesprochen hat. 

Abends ging es dann mit den Mädels vom Vorabend wieder in den selben Pub. Dieses Mal war es allerdings eher ein ruhiger Ausklang. 

I'll be back in London quite soon, so saying good-bye wasn't that hard. But I'm already missing my girls and all the fun times we experienced in London.

In nicht allzu langer Zeit werde ich nochmal nach London fliegen, deswegen war der Abschied nicht super traurig. Aber trotzdem vermisse ich jetzt schon meine Mädels und all die tollen Dinge, die wir gemeinsam in London erleben durften.
