It's now been almost four weeks that I've lived in London and I have settled into my new home and experienced quiet a lot already. I don't look like a tourist anymore when I go into Kingston because I know which busses to take, where certain shops are and if someone asks for directions, I can usually help them out.
Today, I want to share a few pictures and explanations with y'all, so you can get a better idea of where and how I'll live for the next year.
Mittlerweile bin ich nun schon fast vier Wochen in England und habe mich in meinem neuen Zuhause eingelebt. Und obwohl es noch einiges in London zu entdecken gibt, kommt mir die Umgebung immer bekannter und heimatlicher vor. Mittlerweile weiß ich, welchen Bus ich wohin nehmen muss, und wenn mich jemand nach einer Richtung fragt, kann ich auch weiterhelfen. :)
Damit ihr auch einmal einen Eindruck von meinem Zuhause für das nächste Jahr bekommt, kommen hier ein paar Bilder und Erklärungen.
Let's starte with my room. It's fairly small compared to the one I have in Germany and most of the space is used up for my bed. But to me, it's really comfy and nice and since I spend most of my time somewhere else anyways it is definitely enough.
Lasst uns mit meinem Zimmer anfangen. Es ist um einiges kleiner als mein Zimmer in Deutschland und der meiste Platz wird von meinem Bett aufgebraucht. Allerdings finde ich das Zimmer an sich sehr gemütlich und süß und da ich die meiste Zeit sowieso irgendwo anders verbringe, ist es definitiv mehr als ausreichend.

| A cork board right above my bed. Up till now the only thing up there is a letter one of my best friends gave me when I left Germany but I wanna print out a couple more pictures soon. Direkt über meinem Bett hängt eine Pinnwand. Bis jetzt hängt da nur ein Brief, den mir meine Lieblingsnachbarin aka Zwillingsschwester Michelle geschrieben hat. Ich möchte aber in den nächsten Tagen noch ein paar mehr Bilder ausdrucken und aufhängen. |

Next up, I'm gonna show you a couple pictures of our house in general. The house itself is really old and Alex and Alexa are planning on moving as soon as they find a nice house that isn't too expensive. You can basically hear anything anyone says in the house and moving quietly is not an option either as every step you take makes a sound. But it is very English in its style and I for a british house it is quite big as well.
Als nächstes möchte ich euch ein paar Bilder des Hauses an sich zeigen. Das Haus ist schon relativ alt und Alexa und Alex überlegen auch schon, in ein Anderes um zu ziehen, sobald genügend Geld zum Kaufen da ist. In unserem Haus kann man sich eigentlich nicht leise bewegen, da der Boden knarrt und Türen eigentlich auch immer quietschen. Der Style des Hauses ist sehr englisch, doch man muss sagen, dass es für ein englisches Haus doch sehr geräumig ist. 
This is what you see when you enter our house. It's generally rather dark inside the house that's why there are almost always lights on.
Das ist das Erste, was man zu sehen bekommt, wenn man unser Hause betritt. Es ist relativ dunkel im Haus, deswegen müssen wir fast immer Licht anhaben.
Here you can see our living room. The door on the right is the one you could see in the picture above. We only have Germany TV Channels for the kids to improve their German and since Alex and Alexa rarely watch TV, they don't wanna pay for the British channels.
Das hier ist unser Wohnzimmer. Im Fernsehen empfangen wir nur deutsches Fernsehen, da die Kinder damit ihr Deutsch verbessern können und Alex und Alexa so selten Fernsehen schauen, dass es sich nicht lohnt, für die Englischen zu bezahlen.
And this is where all the food magic and dish cleaning happens: our lovely kitchen. As I already mentioned: the house is quite old and that is especially reflected in the kitchen.
Und hier passiert das ganze Kochen und Geschirr-Waschen: unsere Küche. Wie schon gesagt, ist das Haus relativ alt und das kann man vor allem an der Küche sehen.
This is our back porch. We don't really have much of a big yard with a lot of green space but we do have a giant trampoline, which is used quite frequently.
Das hier ist unsere Terrasse. Es gibt keinen Garten mit Gras, dafür aber ein riesiges Trampolin, welches auch sehr häufig genutzt wird.
 Von der Küche aus kommt man in das Spielzimmer der Kinder. Eine Sache, die mir relativ früh schon aufgefallen ist, ist die Tatsache, dass englische Kinder um einiges mehr Spielsachen besitzen, als deutsche Kinder. 
These two pictures are taken in my bathroom. It is basically my own as both the boys and Alexa and Alex have bathrooms for themselves.
Diese zwei Bilder stammen aus meinem Badezimmer. Ich habe dieses eigentlich für mich alleine, da Alexa, Alex und die zwei Jungs noch zwei weitere Bäder haben, welche sie normalerweise benutzen.

As I have noticed that these are quite a few pictures already, I will keep this post to just the inside of our house. There will be another post with the outside and more about our area in general soon. I hope you could get at least a small impression of how our house looks.
Da ich im Laufe des Schreibens gemerkt habe, dass es doch einige Bilder sind, die hier zusammen kommen, habe ich beschlossen, dieses Post bei dem Inneren unseres Hauses zu belassen. Es folgt aber bald noch ein Post, der sich ein bisschen mehr auf Außen und unsere Begebung beziehen wird.
