Sibling bonding time in London

Hey guys!

Yesterday, Alexa and the kids left for Germany where they're going to spend most of their fall break. But for the time being I don't have to stay in this house alone... I've got my brother with me! He arrived just about ten minutes after the other three left - so unfortunately they didn't get to meet but he did meet Alex though.
It's my brother's first trip to London, so we're definitely going to visit all the tourist attractions.
My brother had been up for quite a long time, so we didn't do much yesterday. But one the way home we took a quick trip to the O2-Arena as well.

The first sight we visited yesterday was the "Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park". This is an area entirely created and built for the 2012 London Olympics. It includes four stadiums, the athletes village and a large leisure area. I hadn't been there before either, so it was something new to discover for both of us. Katharina found a tour on the internet during which one follows the red busses I mentioned in my last post. We had loads of fun and it was a good way to actually see all the important parts of the Olympic village, stadiums, etc.

The first view one gets is of the athletes' accommodations. They look very modern and there is so many of them that it makes it even harder to understand just how many people are involved in the Olympic Games.

To finish off the day, we enjoyed a nice frozen yogurt.

Love,
Svenja

  3. I love the creative busses! In Germany, we had a similar thing with elephants recently and I have also seen it done with bears. Of course London would be busses!

    1. That's amazing! I've also seen it done in Bristol and South Hampton last summer! I really love the idea because it gives you the most important places in one city but also supports a good cause! :)
